Following the launch of the Call for Proposals by the Climate Change and Health Innovation Hub for West and Central Africa (CHINNOVA) project, the Association of African Universities (AAU), together with its partners West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), Institut Pasteur de Côte d’Ivoire (IPCI) and Université Omar Bongo (UOB), organised a comprehensive Information Session to offer guidance to prospective applicants. The session formed part of a broader effort to promote high-quality, interdisciplinary research aimed at strengthening health system resilience in the face of climate change across West and Central Africa.

The Climate Change and Health Innovation Hub for West and Central Africa (CHINNOVA) has launched its first Call for Proposals to fund interdisciplinary research that addresses urgent climate-related health challenges across the west and central regions of Africa.

The Climate Change and Health Research Priority Setting Regional Stakeholders Consultative Workshop, held in Gabon, on June 18-19, 2025, brought together key stakeholders across West and Central Africa to shape a regional research agenda under the CHINNOVA project. The event marked a major step toward building climate-resilient health systems through evidence generation, collaboration, and inclusive innovation
